Our Vision for the event
It is more important than ever that we increase our attention to the voices of our children and young people. We must invest time to listen and develop collective action to invest in their future together. This will be critical in our collective success in creating change that ensures a guaranteed state of health and wellbeing for all 450,000 children and young people living in South Yorkshire.
Through our engagement with children and young people in South Yorkshire, we know they are keen to gain your attention and share specific messages about what matters most to them about their health and the wider social determinants. The children and young people felt it was important to have strategic leaders, who can facilitate change, joining them.

Who is coming
We have around 80 children and young people from across South Yorkshire attending the conference and we are keen to ensure you will be there to hear what they have to say and have the opportunity to talk together about the next steps in our work as the children and young people alliance.
We are delighted to announce the conference keynote speakers are Dame Rachel De Souza the Children’s Commissioner for England and the South Yorkshire Mayor, Oliver Coppard, who will be sharing their insights alongside young people.

Accessibility
We have step free access into the building on the side which is signposted from the main entrance. All function rooms are fully wheelchair accessible.
Every effort has been made to create a fully inclusive and accessible environment throughout the event. There is going to be a DBS checked volunteer attending the "Quiet Room" which people can use if they need to withdraw from the main space for any length of time.
