I'm pregnant - now what?

You've found out you're pregnant and you might be thinking, 'What do I do now?'

You don't need to see your GP. You can register directly with a maternity service / hospital. You don't have to register with your local hospital, you can choose where you have your pregnancy care. Watch the 'Place of Birth' animation to find out more.

If you're pregnant, it's important to register with a maternity service before you reach 10-weeks of pregnancy.

Seeing a midwife before 10-weeks means you can get:

  • The help and advice you need
  • FREE vitamins and folic acid
  • Information about the tests and scans you can have
  • A chance to ask questions, or share any worries.
