Laura Churm

Role within the CYP Alliance

I am a clinical lead responsible for overseeing patient safety incident response framework and facilitating collaborative efforts to enhance patient safety and shared learning across the region, while also engaging in various projects.

Why does it matter?

It matters because our primary goal is to enhance the well-being of children, young people, and their families, and by assisting stretched acute NHS organizations with quality improvement and collaborative learning, we can collectively improve outcomes without unnecessary complexity.

My impact

One of my greatest accomplishments is fostering strong leadership and creating a psychologically safe environment for the individuals under my guidance.

Something a bit different…

Outside of work, I devote my time to my three children and two dogs, and when I have the opportunity, I enjoy working on our home renovation project.

Where can you get help?

If you think your child is having trouble with communicating and talking to you, discuss your concerns with a professional such as a health visitor, GP, nursery/school teacher who can provide advice and consider whether they may require a referral to a speech and language therapist or GP.
